In 2015, Macek Power entered into the business of CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled) manufacturing via a subsidiary, RIMAC Precision Machining. The manufacturing operation is tooled with one (`1) Haas VF-2SS vertical machining center with 4-axis capability driven by CAMWorks CAM software. Supporting operations are a variety of other tooling including a myriad of tool holders and fixtures, horizontal band saw for cutting material stock, granite surface plate for part inspection and quality assurance, and precision measuring tools, including a Faro Arm.
To date, completed manufacturing jobs include steam turbine blades, fluid film thrust bearings, and impellers. Experience includes machining plain, alloy, and martensitic stainless steels, as well as aluminum alloys. Plans for the future include addition of a CNC lathe to the shop.
