TURBOMACHINERY CONSULTING

Macek Power & Turbomachinery Engineering offers the equipment purchaser, end-user, or repair shop the advantage of an experienced, fast responding, reasonably priced alternative for the resolution of turbomachinery issues. Our knowledge base includes a wide range of elements of design, application, modification, repair, and part manufacturing related to gas and steam turbines, axial and centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps, and positive displacement machines such as screw compressors. If Macek Power cannot help solve your machinery related problem, then it can probably refer you to someone who can. Contact Macek Power anytime for a quick response to your needs.

EXAMPLE WORKS

LUBE OIL SYSTEM DESIGN

Lube oil system design services as per standard such as API or per customer specification are available through Macek Power.

PERFORMANCE CALCULATION

Centrifugal pump and compressor performance calculations, although less frequent than steam turbine work, are often necessary for application studies.

ROTOR-BEARING SYSTEM ANALYSIS

Changes in bearing span, bearing type, shaft speed, or load often require rotor-bearing system analysis as illustrated by this example of the pressure distribution inside a radial fluid film bearing.

EQUIPMENT INSPECTION

Equipment inspection, be it for for repair workscope development, reapplication, or on behalf of the surplus equipment buyer, is a common Macek Power service.

OWNER'S ENGINEER

At times, owner's engineer work involves following a repair and working directly with the repair service provider on behalf of the mutual client to determine the most sensible repair scope.

APPLICATION ENGINEERING

Application engineering typically involves helping the client with repurposing equipment it already owns, or the acquisition of either new or surplus market equipment.  Details such as instrumentation and customer connections as part of the package are an important part of the process.

MECHANICAL DESIGN

This inlet guide vane assembly was designed as part of an air blower reapplication and retrofit project.  Manufacturing was done by others.

REVERSE ENGINEERING

This centrifugal compressor return channel was reverse engineered for CAD solid model creation, and later, replacement part manufacturing.

GOOD ENGINEERING REQUIRES MUCH MORE

THAN EXPENSIVE SOFTWARE

OUR ABILITY TO CORRECTLY VISUALIZE THE PHYSICS BEHIND THE PROBLEM AND CONFIRM, VIA ANALYTICAL OR EXPERIMENTAL METHODS, THAT COMPUTER BASED RESULTS ARE IREASONABLE IS WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER ENGINEERING SERVICE PROVIDERS.
